When I think of an item that creates ritual, I recall a memory from my childhood. My Aunt was talking about my great grandmother Yasmine’s wooden spoon, which was being passed down to her. Yasmine used to spend hours in the kitchen cooking for the family. I could sense how special the spoon was to my Aunt. It was no longer just a wooden spoon, but a memory of grandma and a symbol of her love.
